Frosted Color!

I discovered a new challenge site (for me anyway) called Frosted Designs.  Their Fabulous Friday Challenge this week is...CIRCLES!  I combined that with the Color My Heart Dare #6.  The dare is to take what we've learned about color relationships & add a color to a CTMH paper packet based on those relationships.  I chose to use the Dotty For You papers.  I used the Smoothie, Sunset, & Sunny Yellow polka dots for their primary/secondary relationship.  Next I added Moonstruck...a complimentary color to Sunset.  Complimentary colors are two colors that sit directly opposite from one another on the color wheel.  I used a variety of circle sizes all cut with the AP cartridge as was the card base & Dotty layers.  Four of my circle flowers are embellished with Bitty Sparkles.  It's all tied together with the Paradise Assortment Baker's Twine.

Here Comes the Bride!

This is another Heart 2 Heart/ MojoMonday combined card.  The theme is from H2H and the basic sketch is MojoMonday.
All of the layers are cut from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge with the assistance of the Cricut Craft-room, my new favorite hangout.  I love all the white on white I've seen around the web so was glad for a reason to give it a try (like I really need a reason to make a card ;-).  I love the formal feel I get with the black accents from the ribbon and sentiment tag.

Color My Heart Dare #5

This week we are focusing on primary and secondary colors. These colors are very pleasing to the eye when placed in this order: redorange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. This is the order of the colors in a rainbow.
The assignment is to pick any shade of these 6 colors (it must be all 6), and use them on your project.  I immediately thought of a cute card I saw sometime back that used ribbon to create a rainbow effect.  I'm sorry I don't remember where I saw the card so I could give proper credit.  My colors are Cranberry, Sunset, Sunkiss Yellow, Sweet Leaf, Indian Corn Blue, and Gypsy.  The small stamps are from A Game Acylix stamp set, and the sentiment is from Love Life.  My card base is out of Kraft cardstock with Dotty for You and White Daisy circles.  I used Close To My Heart's wonderful Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon to capture the colors.  This card used 100% CTMH products.

Restful Reading

My OTHER favorite pastime is reading!  I found a great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for these adorable corner bookmarks.  Of course I tweaked the direction for my own personal style and made 2 sizes...4" & 3".  I'm also having fun playing with all the features on picmonkey.com, a free photo editing site.

God Bless America! H2H & Exploring Cricut Challenges

I am really proud of my latest completed project.  It's a gift for my sister, Kathy.  Her birthday is July 5th.  Shhh...don't tell her...she doesn't read my blog.  The base is a wooden pizza paddle I got at Target for about $11.  The flowers were cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge ONLY available through a Close to My Heart Consultant.  I hand rolled all 120+ paper roses and secured them with a wonderful CTMH product called Liquid Glass.  The stars, big & small, and the sentiment were also Cricut cuts.  This was a time consuming but extremely satisfying endeavor.  I love my Cricut & most of all Close To My Heart paper crafting products.

Ducks on Parade!

I'm not much of a scrapbooker...YET, but I had to do something with this darling photo of my 2 year old granddaughter, Karlie.  Her daddy took this photo on Mother's Day. It is done with Florentine papers.

Color my Heart Color Dare #4

I really love the the color dare challenges from Color my Heart!  However, as a new Close To My Heart consultant, I'm slowly working on building up my Exclusive Inks collection.  So, I haven't had the colors needed each week, but I'm getting there!  This week I was in luck!  This week's colors are Cranberry, Sunkiss Yellow, and Sky, which are Triadic colors.  Triadic colors are 3 colors that are equal distances apart from one another on the color wheel.
I created my own paper for the card base by stamping a large flourish pattern on White Daisy card stock in Cranberry with yellow accents. The sentiment is also in Cranberry on a diamond of Sky card stock.  I added a yellow butterfly cut from the AP cartridge and stamped with a Cranberry crisscross pattern. 4 Bitty Sparkles were the finishing touch.  My inspiration came from Wishes page 91.

Stampaganza Craze!

Well, I went a little crazy with my stamp set order, but I just couldn't pass up the great deal Close To My Heart is offering during Stampaganza.  For every two My Acrylix® stamp sets* (sizes A, B, C, D, or E) you purchase at full retail price, you'll receive a third stamp set of your choice FREE* (of equal or lesser value).
My stamps arrived today, so I HAD to play.  First up are 2 cards I made for my sons that stayed behind in Nevada when I moved to Washington State last month.
For Alex's card I actually used 4 stamp sets: A Melody, A Flitter, A Tree, and 4 My Friend.  He's my musician, so the floating notes are for him.

My baby boy (he's really 21) Jared's card used 3 sets: Stitched Together. Tag the Occasion, and also 4 My Friend.  I just had to use the "Miss you like crazy" stamp on both cards. The 444 refers to his time of birth & has become our own little code for thinking about you!

Happy Father's Day/ Exploring Cricut Challenge

This week's Exploring Cricut challenge is called "Father's Day". You are to create a card, layout, or paper craft using at least two cricut cuts.

My 1st card was designed in Cricut Craftroom, my new favorite place.  The card shape is from the CTMH AP cartridge with a star overlay cutout.  The sentiment was created with overlapping letters from the All Mixed Up cartridge.

My 2nd card only uses one cut for the sentiment, but I included it for the theme.

Color My Heart Color Dare #2

This challenge asks you to create a project using the featured colors. You must use Close to My Heart (CTMH) products to participate.  This week's colors are MoonstruckLagoonTopiary, & Pear. Since I am a fairly new CTMH consultant, my ink stash is still a bit limited.  My card using all CTMH products is done in Lagoon card stock and Moonstruck ink.     EnJOY!

Vintage Look!

I love these colors from the Florentine paper pack, and the elegant sentiment from the 4 My Friend (D1510) CTMH Acrylix stamp set is perfect for this ink distressed vintage card.   EnJOY!
