A "Geometric" Challenge

Welcome to another week's challenge with H2H.
This week, our challenge was to include the following:

Line, Line, Circle, Square

That means two items on my card had to be lines, one had to be a circle and one had to be a square. All 4 items must be present and accounted for. 

I tackled the circle & square by cutting a 3" by 3" piece of Dotty For You paper.  The lines are made from Paradise Baker's Twine.  I utilized Sweet Leaf and Lagoon card stock.  All 3 pieces were distressed with Cocoa Exclusive ink.  The stamp and sentiment are from Under the Sea My Acrylix stamp set and colored with Sunny Yellow, Smoothie, & Lagoon.  I finished with 8 Bitty Sparkles.

Color My Heart Dare #7

This week's color dare is to choose your own secondary colors: any shade of orange,green, and/or purple will do. Pick two or use all three.


I chose Sunset, Creme Brulee, and Sweet Leaf as my orange/green shades.  I accented with Cocoa and Sunny Yellow.  This card uses all CTMH products including Footloose paper, Paradise Flowers and Twine, and Bitty Sparkles.  My Acrylix Stamp sets used were Bee Happy and Be Yourself Flourishes.

Land of the Rising Sun

     This card uses a technique called masking,  Small sections are blocked off for inking in a pattern of your chose I chose the sun ray pattern to match my Oriental Kanji stamp set.  My colors are Bamboo, Honey, and Goldrush...all CTMH Exclusive Inks. Don't you think the combination has a slight metallic look?  One of the best experiences of my life was a 3 week educator's tour of Japan.  since that time I've loved the Japanese look, so I was thrilled when I was able to purchase the retired CTMH stamp set Kanji Phrases.  I've also included another card I made with this set.

Frosted Color!

      I discovered a new challenge site (for me anyway) called Frosted Designs.  Their Fabulous Friday Challenge this week is...CIRCLES!  I combined that with the Color My Heart Dare #6.  The dare is to take what we've learned about color relationships & add a color to a CTMH paper packet based on those relationships.  I chose to use the Dotty For You papers.  I used the Smoothie, Sunset, & Sunny Yellow polka dots for their primary/secondary relationship.  Next I added Moonstruck...a complimentary color to Sunset.  Complimentary colors are two colors that sit directly opposite from one another on the color wheel.  I used a variety of circle sizes all cut with the AP cartridge as was the card base & Dotty layers.  Four of my circle flowers are embellished with Bitty Sparkles.  It's all tied together with the Paradise Assortment Baker's Twine.

Here Comes the Bride!

    This is another Heart 2 Heart/ MojoMonday combined card.  The theme is from H2H and the basic sketch is MojoMonday.
    All of the layers are cut from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge with the assistance of the Cricut Craft-room, my new favorite hangout.  I love all the white on white I've seen around the web so was glad for a reason to give it a try (like I really need a reason to make a card ;-).  I love the formal feel I get with the black accents from the ribbon and sentiment tag.

Color My Heart Dare #5

     This week we are focusing on primary and secondary colors. These colors are very pleasing to the eye when placed in this order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. This is the order of the colors in a rainbow. 
The assignment is to pick any shade of these 6 colors (it must be all 6), and use them on your project.  I immediately thought of a cute card I saw sometime back that used ribbon to create a rainbow effect.  I'm sorry I don't remember where I saw the card so I could give proper credit.  My colors are Cranberry, Sunset, Sunkiss Yellow, Sweet Leaf, Indian Corn Blue, and Gypsy.  The small stamps are from A Game Acylix stamp set, and the sentiment is from Love Life.  My card base is out of Kraft cardstock with Dotty for You and White Daisy circles.  I used Close To My Heart's wonderful Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon to capture the colors.  This card used 100% CTMH products.
