Color Dare # 28 - Twilight, Juniper, Goldrush, Cotton Candy, Ruby & Gypsy

This week's challenge is a not-so random selection of odd colors.

Twilight
Juniper
Goldrush
Cotton Candy
Ruby
Gypsy

I chose a 5x7 White Daisy card base layered with 6 2x2 squares, each inked in the featured colors. I took a 10 inch length of Black Tulle sliced into 1 and 1/2 inch widths to back the squares. The heart stamp is from Love Life (D1482), and the sentiment is from the January Stamp of the Month. I finished with gray epoxy bubbles left over from the Avonlea Card Workshop on the Go.

Heart to Heart - All that Glitters!

January's final challenge on the Heart to Heart site is to make your project sparkle with glitter.  I tried a couple of new things for this one. First of all, instead of using glitter paper I took a piece of the black B&T from the new For always paper pack and covered the dark leafy part with Glitz Stardust Glitter Gel.
                                  BEFORE                             AFTER

Next I cut the piece diagonally and added it to opposite corners of a 4 and 1/4 by 5" Whisper card base. I ran a piece of the B&T zip strip down the center of the diagonal & topped that with a piece of scrap ribbon from my stash.
My 2nd new piece is the Black Tulle flower. Here's the tutorial I used to make it: Tulle Flower Tutorial. I secured the flower with a flower brad & tipped the edges with more glitter gel.
The sentiment is from 4 My Friend (D1510) stamped in Black on a 2" scalloped White Daisy circle.

Color Dare # 27 - Sweet Leaf, Topiary, & New England Ivy

We have another monochromatic color dare for you this week - all in green:

Sweet Leaf
Topiary
New England Ivy

Lesson: Monochromatic colors are colors on the color wheel of the same hue, but a different shade. In this case, Topiary would be the true green, Sweet Leaf would be the tint, or pastel, (with white added), and New England Ivy would be the shade (with black added).

I chose to do a CAS (clean & simple) card this week.  This is a Valentine's Day card for my son, Alex, who's favorite color is green.  The hearts were cut from White Daisy CS using CTMH's Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge at 3". 2", and 1".  Next I sponged on the 3 different shades of green before inking the edges in Black.  The A2 card base is Sweetleaf edged in Topiary.  A simple length of Burlap Ribbon sets off the layered heart.  The sentiment is from Adore stamp set (A1123).

"B" Mine

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter B. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their B element will be featured in their post.
If you came from Scrappin' With Shalana then you're on the right track!
The big B on Scholastic popped in my mind, especially for this perfect phrase for upcoming Valentine's Day. I came up with this anti-frilly card for that special man in your life.

I used the following CTMH products to complete this card:
Scholastic Paper Pack
Cocoa Card Stock
Black Exclusive Ink
Champagne Exclusive Ink
A Typeface Stamp Set
Artiste Word Balloon Stamp Set
Dimensional Elements Banners & Quotes
Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Cocoa Ribbon Round (retired)
Misc. Brads

Baby It's Cold Outside!

This week's challenge over at Heart to Heart is "Hot Cocoa". Now that always makes me think of cold which is very easy right now because it is COLD!
I designed & cut the cup using the Art Philosophy cartridge in Cricut Craft Room out of Clementine B&T paper.  I used the zip strip to cut the tendrils of steam. The sentiment "CocoaCold" was also designed in CCR.  My card base is Saddle card stock. I trimmed the edge with a sliver of CTMH Burlap Ribbon, and finished it with some misc. white glittery gems I had in my stash to simulate snow or frost.

"A" Beginning

Welcome to our very first Everything ABC's Blog Hop! This will be the first of many throughout the year so make sure to check out what we have new for you about every two weeks. Happy New Year and Happy Hopping!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter A. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their A element will be featured in their post.
If you came from Kathy's blog, then you're on the right track!
My goal is to choose a word to feature for each letter. We'll see how that works out as we move through the alphabet.

I knew immediately that for the letter"A" I would use one of my favorite retiring stamps sets, Aspire (C1455). When looking for it, I came across another fun retired set, Be Yourself (D1349), featuring fashion silhouettes and saw a woman with hands raised. "Bingo," said my brain, and I had my idea.
I chose the colorful Flirty papers as my background and used Rosette Ribbon and Bitty Sparkles for the finishing touches.
