Card Kits Available at the CKC Tacoma, WA Close To My Heart Booth

Welcome to my blog spot which obviously by the date of my last post (March 2014) I haven't used for a while. However, I thought this was a good way to show extra photos and extra hints that wouldn't fit on the flyer included in each kit sold at the Tacoma CKC Scrapbook convention Nov. 8 & 9, 2019.

Please feel free to use the contact info included on the information sheets if you have any questions or concerns that aren't covered below.

Set #1  - Simple Messages

This set is fairly simple just following the photos. The flower jar does have a sentiment on the inside.
You do need to slice the heart paper in the Thank You card on the diagonal to flip one side. I just lined it up on my paper slicer corner to corner.
Also remember that the glitter shimmer trim strip has a self-adhesive backing.

Close To My Heart Shimmer trim is one of my favorite products.

Set #2  - Colorful Christmas

This is perhaps my simplest set of cards, so following the photo should be all you need.

  1. Set #3  - Spiritual Christmas

I LOVE making Christmas cards. For this set I went into my stash determined to use up left over paper from years past.

The first card is colored with our new  Spectrum Noir™ TriBlend™ Markers. Each marker has 3 different shade tips which makes blending and highlighting a breeze. I've never been very confident with alcohol markers, but these have been a game changer for me.

This old HSN video has some good tips on using them.

Set #4  - Have a Glittery Christmas

Welcome to my bright and glittery set. They each have fairly simple construction. Definitely use foam tape to pop up the embellishments, and don't forget to tie the twine around the birdies before attaching to the card base.

Set #5  - Happy Birthday

I giggle every time I see the "lion, tigers, & bears" card and picture Dorothy & her crew skipping down the yellow brick road. Enjoy constructing these fun and elegant birthday cards.

Set #6  - Seahawk Colors Greetings

Hard to go wrong with Seahawks color. The chevron card is the most involved. . I built both layers of the process on separate pieces of white card stock so I could then trim to the size I wanted on my card. Be as precise as possible lining up each chevron strip. to get the best effect. This is a great video to explain the process.

For the Thank You card, take the dark blue strip and gently tear down the right side to get the torn paper effect. This effect works well with all CTMH cardstock as it has a white core.

Almost all sentiments on all my card sets are popped up with one of my other favorite CTMH products 3D Foam tape in regular and thin. Each roll comes with 2 widths and is easily tearable by hand.

Although I listed them on the info insert in each card set, here are the 4 websites with a bit more detail on the construction/ inside of the gift card holder:

These gift cards are the same style as those above thus use the same video links I already posted.

Set #9  - Life Sentiments

Sometimes a simple sentiment is all you have to offer. Choose your favorite color for the flowers and even add a bit of color to the flower pot for a little pop.

Exploring Cricut Explore.

Silly Timberline pennant card made while playing around with my new Cricut Explore. I made the shape for the monkey stamp by tracing the stamp, scanning it into my computer and importing it into the Cricut Design Studio. The card base is 2 welded pennants from Artbooking.

Color Dare # 28 - Twilight, Juniper, Goldrush, Cotton Candy, Ruby & Gypsy

This week's challenge is a not-so random selection of odd colors.

Twilight
Juniper
Goldrush
Cotton Candy
Ruby
Gypsy

I chose a 5x7 White Daisy card base layered with 6 2x2 squares, each inked in the featured colors. I took a 10 inch length of Black Tulle sliced into 1 and 1/2 inch widths to back the squares. The heart stamp is from Love Life (D1482), and the sentiment is from the January Stamp of the Month. I finished with gray epoxy bubbles left over from the Avonlea Card Workshop on the Go.

Heart to Heart - All that Glitters!

January's final challenge on the Heart to Heart site is to make your project sparkle with glitter.  I tried a couple of new things for this one. First of all, instead of using glitter paper I took a piece of the black B&T from the new For always paper pack and covered the dark leafy part with Glitz Stardust Glitter Gel.
                                  BEFORE                             AFTER

Next I cut the piece diagonally and added it to opposite corners of a 4 and 1/4 by 5" Whisper card base. I ran a piece of the B&T zip strip down the center of the diagonal & topped that with a piece of scrap ribbon from my stash.
My 2nd new piece is the Black Tulle flower. Here's the tutorial I used to make it: Tulle Flower Tutorial. I secured the flower with a flower brad & tipped the edges with more glitter gel.
The sentiment is from 4 My Friend (D1510) stamped in Black on a 2" scalloped White Daisy circle.
